HNordic is different. Our founder Rune Holm spent decades as a working marine engineer before he ever sold an energy system. He held the spanner. He stood the watch. He diagnosed faults at three in the morning in the middle of the North Sea. That background is not a footnote in our credentials. It is the foundation of everything we do.
The experience behind the offer
Rune's career spans some of the most technically demanding environments in maritime and industrial energy. As chief engineer at the Port of Ystad, he was responsible for operating the world's largest shore power plant at the time. A facility of that scale demands more than theoretical knowledge. It demands an understanding of how power infrastructure behaves under real load, real weather, and real operational pressure.
As project manager on the construction and completion of two ultra-modern offshore service vessels, Rune sat inside a four-person management team from keel to delivery. These were not standard builds. Innovative hull design, a new-generation bulb bow, diesel-electric propulsion, and state-of-the-art power management systems. Overseeing that process from the inside means understanding not just what a system is rated to do, but how it actually performs when everything around it is also new.
LNG steam
His time aboard LNG steam vessels added a further dimension that almost no one in this sector can claim: deep operational knowledge of large steam power plants, advanced turbine technology, steam-driven pumps and winches, and the full process chain from LNG storage through gasification and consumption. That category of hands-on experience is genuinely rare. It may be unique at this level of seniority in the energy infrastructure space.
Why this matters for you
Rune has said it plainly, and it is worth saying plainly here too: a leader who does not know what the worker does in practice is not fully leading. If you are building a ship, you should understand every system on it. If you are advising on energy infrastructure for vessels or port facilities, you should have operated that infrastructure yourself.
